All you need to know about moringa oil and how it can help you

What is moringa oil?

Moringa seed oil comes from the moringa plant found in the Himalayan mountains which is known as the most nutrient-dense tree on the planet.

For thousands of years, the Romans and Greeks used moringa oil for skin lotions, ointments, and perfumes and in Egypt, Moringa oil was used for protecting the skin against the ravages of sun, sand, and dust during the long travels in the desert. Due to its healing and beautifying benefits there is no denying that this oil is a powerhouse!

One of our big concerns is protecting and healing our skin from harmful effects of environmental pollution, so it makes sense that moringa oil is now found in numerous cosmetics and skincare due to its unique composition that makes it different to most other oils. Moringa oil is a rich source of powerful antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that meets all your skin needs. It has moisturizing, cleansing, and emollient properties and the antioxidants it contains act as natural preservatives, making it a stable oil resistant to rancidity, and allowing for longer shelf life.  It's the most sought-after oil in the beauty industry for its anti-aging, healing, and beautifying effects.

What are the properties of moringa oil?

Moringa oil is packed with beneficial nutrients such as powerful antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that meets all your skin needs.

  • Antimicrobial, antibacterial, antioxidant, antifungal, and anti-aging properties such as Vitamin E to help maintain healthy skin. These properties help in aiding numerous skin problems, including the effects of aging like wrinkles, dull and lifeless skin.
  • Rich in Vitamin A to stabilize collagen, which in turn helps in reducing fine lines and repairing damaged skin cells by increasing blood flow to the surface of the skin.
  • Highly effective antioxidants such as Vitamin C and Phenols to protect DNA from free radicals, reduce fine lines, and help to repair sun-induced photo damage to skin cells.
  • One of the key benefits is Cytcytokinins – primarily Zeatin a potent plant growth hormone found in Moringa Oil. It helps to promote cellular growth and delays the process of aging by nourishing and supporting skin tissues.
  • High content of fatty acids such as Oleic Acid (omega 9). This helps to improve the skin’s natural protective barrier and keeps skin looking hydrated, plumper, younger-looking and beneficial for restoring the skin’s natural barrier to pollution.

How moringa oil will benefit you...

  • Nourishes and hydrates dry skin- Moringa oil helps in softening dry skin and maintaining moisture in the skin. Moringa oil is 40 percent fatty acids, with 70 percent of that being oleic acid, which makes it great for supporting the skin barrier, sealing in hydration and protecting the skin from damage caused by the environment.  The fatty acids have emollient, lubricant, and anti-inflammatory properties, which will help in restoring the natural oils of the skin. Extremely beneficial for dry and sensitive skin especially those with dermatitis or eczema. Nourishing and hydrated skin
  • Repairs skin from damage caused by pollution- A wide range of pollutants exist in our environment no matter where we live. These pollutants penetrate the deeper layers of the epidermis and affect balance in the skin's structural integrity. The defensive capacity of the skin is disturbed by being exposed to pollution and gradually deplete the skin of antioxidants, leaving skin feeling dry. These particles also disturb the surface barrier function and compromise skin hydration. Moringa’s phytochemicals profile shows that it is rich in fatty acids (mainly oleic acid) and antioxidants that restore and protect the skin’s barrier. Oleic acid also ensures that the skin remains hydrated skin even when exposed to pollution.
  • As an anti-aging oil- Moringa oil has the best anti-aging properties. This nutrient-dense oil which comes filled with antioxidants help in curbing the activity of free radicals, thus slowing down the process of aging. The oil’s richness in Vitamin C helps in stabilizing collagen, which in turn helps in reducing fine lines and repairing damaged skin cells.
  • Brings out the natural glow of skin- Moringa oil helps in fighting skin issues like fatigue and regulates oil secretion, thereby reversing the ill effects of pollution on your skin. By purifying the skin, this special oil helps in revealing its natural glow.
