For so long, Amla had its name in terms of giving many amazing benefits that help us have healthier skin, hair, and overall health.  Coreblends Amla

Emblica officinalis or Phyllanthus emblica, or generally known as Amla fruit, is a sour, native fruit to India, the Middle East, and a few other Southeast Asian countries. In India, it's so-called amla, and in Sanskrit, it's named amalaki. The Indian subcontinent's wet forests and hilly regions are where this fruit typically grows, which makes Indians consider this their sacred fruit.

Amla is a light green fruit with the size of a plum and has a natural sour taste.  Its available in different forms such as powder, juice, oil, tablets, dried fruit, tea, and many more.

Where did amla fruit come from?

The amla fruit and Indian culture go hand in hand. According to Hindu mythology, during one of Vishnu's meditation sessions, when Brahma, the Hindu God, began crying, Amla trees emerged because of his tears when these fell on the ground.

Scientifically, Amla fruits are from a small tree that can be found throughout India and named as Indian Gooseberry by British on colonial days. The trees of Amla can last up to 65 to 70 years.

So, what are the benefits of amla and why is it commonly known as an Ayurvedic medicine?

When we say Ayurvedic Medicine, it is basically a term being used as an alternative medical system, mostly known to Indians. Ayurvedic medicine includes diet, herbal medicines, exercising, meditation, breathing practices, physical therapy, and other methods that help people support their medical treatment or use it as a treatment itself.

How does Amla benefit hair health?

 Amla promotes hair growth. With this fruit’s good amount of vitamin C, amino acids, and other essential fatty acids, Amla supports the follicles of the hair to make a stronger and better hair strand. Therefore, it also prevents hair loss. Used as a hair treatment, Amla oil is thought to;

  • Strengthen and condition the hair all the way down to the roots
  • Promote hair growth
  • Reduce dandruff, which can lead to flaky skin on the scalp
  • Prevent the greying of hair

At CoreBlends we ensure we use the highest quality Amla oil for our blends. Our oil is organic, cold-pressed without added dyes, fragrances, or preservatives s nature intended.
